Our team was assigned to create an advertising poster for a real-world brand. We were paired with Mattel’s Hot Wheels division and challenged to design a campaign that speaks to a younger audience.

Our team was assigned to create an advertising poster for a real-world brand. We were paired with Mattel’s Hot Wheels division and challenged to design a campaign that speaks to a younger audience.

Approach

Working in a team of four, we developed a playful and energetic campaign built around the slogan “You Take the Driver’s Seat.” We followed a structured advertising process from concept to finalization, fully immersing ourselves in the Hot Wheels brand. We focused on what makes the brand iconic and how to reflect that in a way that excites kids. Bold colors and clashing visuals were used to show off the individuality of each car, reinforcing the idea that every child can imagine and control their dream ride.

Challenges

One of the main challenges was capturing the spirit of Hot Wheels while keeping the campaign fresh and modern. We needed to appeal to kids while respecting the brand’s long history. The project pushed us to collaborate effectively and stay aligned throughout the creative process. In the end, the result felt true to the brand while adding a burst of new energy.
