The brief was to design a book centered around a specific artist, using design to reflect their work and personality. I was assigned Nick Cave, known for his bold and expressive Soundsuits made from unexpected materials like fur, buttons, and branches.
This book is a playful and simple guide for future graphic design students. It shares my work from all six semesters and introduces each of our teachers. Since students always have something to say, I added fun, sarcastic comments throughout to reflect the real student experience.
I kept the design clean and easy to follow. The cover features a mix of my projects from first to third year. Inside, the work is shown in order from semester one to semester six—showing how I grew over time.
The hardest part was finding the right tone for the jokes. I didn’t want them to be too boring or too harsh. To keep it respectful, I made sure all teachers approved their quotes and mentions. This helped keep the fun vibe without crossing any lines.
